Handbells at FPPC:
Playing handbells is a great way to enjoy music in a group environment,
and where every person is essential and equally important. We play three
octaves of American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) Level 1-4 music
and arrange our own music, as well. Our set of handbells, purchased
in the mid 1970's gets a real workout! Handbell playing builds community
and friendships within our church, and brings an additional musical spirit
to the worship service.
Our church currently has four groups, consisting of approximately 40 adults and youth.
Our groups, each of which plays 2-4 times per year during worship services, include:
Freedom Ringers - Adults. Members range in age from their 20's to their 70's.
Youth Bell Choir - young people in 7th to 12th grades.
Junior Bell Choir - children in 4th to 7th grades and younger
if they take private music lessons.
Youth Handbell Quartet - older advanced teens and young adults.
Adult Choir practice at 7:30 PM Thursdays.
